Avellino, Italy The Certosa di San Giacomo is an ancient Monastery with eighteenth century Church surrounded by 42 hectares of green grass and flowery gardens. The Monastery, built between 1197 and 1209 at Lauro, a Medieval small town in Avellino province, became soon a place of agricultural production very famous for the quality of its products and a place of spiritual refuge. Even today inside the Certosa an ancient winepress and an Olive grindstone are kept and so the monks?tradition of producing wines like Fiano, Aglianico and all for the Certosa customers is continued.
