Located within walking distance of shops and attractions WISE MANOR is one of the oldest BED & BREAKFAST homes in historic JEFFERSON, Texas. Built in 1851 on the ferry road into pre-Civil War Jefferson, the home has been in the WISE family since 1927. Furnished in Victorian era antiques and family heirlooms, WISE MANOR reminds us of a time when life was simpler and entertaining was gracious. Ernestine Sterne, the first woman postmistress in Texas was a distinguished resident. General Buell lived here for a time during the Reconstruction era.

The Cabin on Comanche Creek  Cabin/Bungalow
When you want to get away, you'll enjoy your stay at the Cabin on Comanche Creek. The beautiful Texas Hill Country provides the setting for this private guesthouse on the Lindsay Ranch, established in 1858. In the country, but close to the action, the cabin is five miles north of historic Mason, Texas. Two bedrooms, 1 full brass bed and twin beds, a day bed and couch in the kitchen/living area, porch & deck make the cabin a comfortable place to stay. Mason County is a rockhounds paradise. Topaz, the state gem, is found only in Mason County and you may rock hunt on the ranch. The fee is $10.00 per person per day (if you are not our guest) and you keep what you find. Hike, explore or relax and listen to the birds. There is no telephone or TV but games and books are provided. Prepare your breakfast from the many foods provided in the well-stocked kitchen. Only two hours but a world away from Austin or San Antonio the Cabin on Comanche Creek is the place to stay when you want to get away.
